    Umbrella [um] Quotes

I need to know in what format I should be saving the quote document that we created, in order to most efficiently e-mail it to a customer. If I save and send it as a pdf file, no one can ever read it from their computer (even though I can pull up a copy and read it just fine). If I save and send it as an RTF file, about 75% of customers can open and read it. For those that cannot read the rtf file, I re-save it as a word document and re-send, which typically is readable by the customer (unless they are a Mac user, which is really a problem they need to fix on their end!). Am I doing something wrong? What is the best way to save/send these documents so that anyone can open up and read them?

    Lauren,

    Welcome to the forum!!

Can you enter a quote with my email address and send one on to me so I can see the attachment?

Peter:  I do not know what is going wrong with the PDFs...the other files seem OK though.  I have created a new form (in the Quotes folder) which is called Quote via Email.  Can you test that version to see if it works better?

Lauren: Yeah, I checked out the new e-mail quote. When I go to send it an error message comes up that says, "Scan line index out of range". I click ok and the e-mail goes away, but it still sends ( I sent it to myself). But when you try to open the attachment, the pdf file says, "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired." I thought maybe the default destination was wrong, but it doesn't appear to be. I will e-mail you a copy.

I will check it out...it may be a problem in the form itself.  Can you create PDFs of other documents?

     I don't think so.
